Buying birthday/christmas gifts is always hard so to find gifts to buy a pregnant women or new mum for a special occasion, then surely lots of thinking will be needed. But it is not as hard as you think once you are on a roll with the pen and paper and in the right frame of mind with gifts on the brain it will be a doddle, and you will wonder what on earth you were finding so hard.
Firstly you could buy a book token as a gift if she likes reading or if at the end of the pregnancy and starting to panic about the birth. With a book of her choice she might calm down and relax a little, which will help both pregnant mum and baby.
If it is your pregnant partner or friend you are buying a gift for and she still has a while to go before the end of the pregnancy, then she is desperately going to need some maternity clothes for birthday/Christmas present. Because, as the mum to be gets bigger along with baby then those size 8 jeans are no longer going to get anywhere near her waist.
A great gift idea would be some pampering equipment like face mask treatments, manicure or pedicure would make any pregnant woman feel on top of the world, especially if she is feeling slightly run down with pregnancy hormones kicking in or not sleeping to well.
Some things for the birth would make a good birthday/Christmas gift such as nightwear, items to go in the hospital bag like breast pads, vests for baby, baby grows, towels and baby nappies for in the hospital. This will give mother to be one less thing to think about.
A maternity tens pain relief machine could be hired or bought for the delivery of the new baby as a gift, to help with pain and calm the pregnant woman down whilst giving birth.
What to buy New mums as a Birthday/Christmas gift
Lets think what would a new mum need now she has given birth to baby, and ready for her journey home to spend her first, and babies first day at home together.
Baby will need a car seat for the journey home and to be safe, so if mum has not already got this then maybe save mum some money and buy it for her and that would be a gift for both mother, who would save the money and baby because it as an essential for them.
A breast feeding support pillow would be a great gift idea, as mum will be able to breast feed baby and also be very comfortable whilst doing so. Especially if she has any back problems since being pregnant.
Maybe buy a new mum a toiletry bag full of goodies which you could choose which to buy, and put in such as stretch mark cream to help improve the appearance of them and bath oils, bubble baths for a nice hot soak.
If the mum you are buying a birthday/Christmas gift for wants to try and lose her extra weight from the pregnancy, then you could buy her a pedometer, so when she goes for a walk with baby then she can help to lose the excess weight and tone with walking.
Still struggling for more ideas for gifts to buy for a pregnant woman or new mum then, just ask her what she would like or you could just offer the pregnant woman some company and sit and chat or go shopping together for baby stuff, for new mum why don't you look after baby for a night why she goes out and lets her hair down.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)A great idea of gifts for Mom would be oil drop timers. They are those old toys that use colored oil and water to drop down a track, and become a great paperweight/timer/decorative piece. They are virtually indestructible and are a unique gift to present. The cheapest place I have found was at oil dropper . com
